First Aid -26551 & 26552

This certified course is designed to meet the requirements for persons to be certified as first aiders in the workplace and will also meet the Department of Labour guidelines.This course is also designed to motivate and train a person to be capable of providing immediate first aid assitance in any situation. Students are trained to a high standard of patient care with both instructor and peer assessment throughout the 1 day course.

• Assess the casualty for life threatening conditiions
• provide First aid for life threatening conditions
• CPR - adult / child / infant
• Choking - adult / child / infant
• Severe Bleeding
• Fractures
• Wounds
• Burns
• Soft-tissue injuries
• Medical conditions
• Seizures
• Diabetic emergencies
• Brething difficulties
• Anaphylaxis
• Chest pains
• Stroke

The unit standards associsted with this course are;

• 26551 - Provide first aid for life threatening conditions (level 2, Credits 1)
• 26552 - Demonstrate knowledge of common first aid conditions and how to respond to them (Level 2, Credits 1)
