First Aid for Babysitters

 

Who should attend

Youth ages 14 to 16 who are interested in learning basic first aid practices for children and infants.

 


This certified course is designed to teach youth all aspects of child and infant first aid. This is done in a relaxed enviroment. This course is designed to instill confidence in both the babysitter and the person hiring them.

 

Specific topics covered include:

  • Scene assessment
  • CPR
  • Choking
  • Bleeding
  • Fever seizures
  • Broken bones
  • Asthma
  • Meningococcal disease
  • Burns
  • Poisoning
  • Head injuries

NZQA Credits

  • 25459 - Provide first aid for young children (level 2, Credits 1)
